There are many causes to higher than normal bills due to a leak. A leak is not good for our customers because it means that water has been used that is not useful (e.g. drinking, bathing, preparing food, brushing teeth, etc.).
During the spring, customers and communities begin to manicure their lawns as they compete for the yard of the month. For many, this means re-starting lawn irrigation systems. Did you know that irrigation leaks and malfunctions can attribute to higher than normal water bills?
If you plan to use your irrigation system this season, please ensure that your irrigation system is working properly. Underground irrigation system leaks, along with damaged sprinkler heads can lead to costly repair bills and higher water bills. Lastly, we encourage our customers to monitor irrigation run times. Sometimes higher bills are not a result of a leak, but long or excessive irrigation run times.
